INS Visakhapatnam emerge overall winners in off-shore race
Kochi, Dec 22 (UNI) Covering a distance of about 1,000 km across the Arabian Sea in 103 hrs and 45 minutes, the Navy team from Visakhapatnam was today declared the overall winners of the 2nd India Off-shore Race between Kochi and the Lakshadweep Islands.
The race was flagged off on December 13 by Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy. A total of eight teams participated in the race, which was broken into two legs -- from Kochi to Lakshadweep and back, with a two-day break at Kadamath island, Lakshadweep.
