ലക്ഷദ്വീപുകലെക്കുരിച്ച് ഇതുവരെ ഇറങ്ങിയിട്ടുള്ള ആധികാര പഠന ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാണ് Traditional Futures : Law and Custom in India's Lakshadweep Islands/V. വിജയകുമാര്‍ ആണ് ഈ ബുക്ക് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് . ഇത് അദേഹത്തിന്റെ പി. എച്ച്. ഡി. പഠനത്തിന്റെ തിസിസ് ആണ്. ലക്ഷദ്വീപുകളിലെ പാരമ്പര്യ നിയമങ്ങളും അതിന് കാലാകാലങ്ങളില്‍ വന്ന മാറ്റങ്ങളും ഇതില്‍ വിശദമായി ചര്ച്ച ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.
എന്‍റെ വ്യക്തിപരമായ അഭിപ്രായത്തില്‍ ശ്രീ. എല്ലിസ് എഴുതിയതിനു ശേഷം ദ്വീപു സമൂഹങ്ങളെ കുറിച്ച് ഏതെങ്കിലും തരത്തില്‍ നടത്തുന്ന ഏറ്റവും സമഗ്രമായ പഠനം ആണ് ഇത്. ലക്ഷദ്വീപിനെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ ബുക്ക് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് ഓക്സ്ഫോര്‍ഡ് ആണ്.
